After a long flight into Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB), the last thing you want is to negotiate a taxi in a crowded arrivals hall. Here is what a private airport transfer with Essencylon actually looks like, from touchdown to your hotel door.

How the pickup works
Once your flight lands, our driver is waiting for you with a name board, either just outside arrivals or at an agreed meeting point. We track flight numbers, so a delayed landing does not mean a driver who has given up and gone home. If anything changes on your end, WhatsApp is the fastest way to reach us on +94 77 086 0671.
What is included
- A private, air-conditioned vehicle sized to your group and your luggage
- A driver from our own team, not a subcontractor you have never met
- One price, agreed with you before you travel – no meter, no haggling at the door
- Help getting your bags into the vehicle and settled for the ride
Nothing is charged on this website. Payment is arranged directly with us, by email or WhatsApp, once your transfer or tour is confirmed.
How pricing works, and why we do not publish a fixed fare list
Being upfront about this: airport transfer pricing depends on where you are headed from CMB, what time your flight lands, and the size of vehicle your group needs. A single published number would be wrong for most travelers, so instead of guessing, we ask for your flight details and destination and reply with one fixed price before you travel. No meter, and no surprises when you arrive.
Beyond the airport
The same private-driver model covers transfers between cities and to the coast, not just the airport run. If you are travelling between Colombo, the hill country and the south, it is worth asking for transfer pricing alongside your tour quote rather than booking each leg separately. See our Sri Lanka airport transfers and private transport page for more.
A few practical notes for landing in Sri Lanka
- Immigration and baggage claim at CMB can take a while during busy arrival windows – build a little slack into any onward plans
- Have your accommodation address written down or saved offline, in case signal is patchy on arrival
- Currency exchange counters are available inside the terminal if you need Sri Lankan rupees straight away
- Traffic drives on the left, and a good driver matters more here than almost anywhere else you will visit
